About Lara Hess...

I was born and raised in Bloomsburg PA.  I am a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a B. S. Degree in Business Administration.  I moved to Danville in 1991 because I started a career at Geisinger Medical Center in the Human Resources Department.  In 1998 I left GMC to begin a new life as a Massage Therapist.  I attended Mt. Nittany School Of Massage and received my certification in June of 1999.  In June 2000 I  became Nationally Certified by the NCBTMB and  maintain that certification. My license number is MSG001565  I am also a member of the AMTA since 1998.

I began my career as an MT because I felt that my job was not making a positive impact on the world.  I also had my Son and I did not get to spend much time with him.  I wanted to have a job where I made a positive impact on others and I would be available for my Son.  I also wanted to have a job where my sight loss would not interfere with my work.  So, after a lot of soul searching I landed on Massage.  I achieved all of my goals and I even found that my sight loss was actually an advantage.

In 1998 the business actually started itself.  People heard that I was going to school and they asked me to work on them.  I had not intended to start the business until I had completed my training.  But the demand was there even for a student.  That was eleven years ago and it has been my full time job.  I feel very lucky to have a job that I love and it allows me the chance to be a positive role in someone's life.

In addition to my wonderful job I enjoy spending time with my Son, and being with friends.  I also love to workout in the gym especially spin classes.  I enjoy being outside doing yard work, walking, Kayaking and bicycling.  I also have a strong love for Martial Arts which is a true passion of mine.
